“Binge Drinking has been a big problem in the United States, but new research shows that it is getting worse.
A study published in the American Journal of Public Health says that Americans are drinking 17% more since 2005. The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation surveyed every county throughout the United States to get a good look at the consumption of alcohol. Hopefully with this new research there will be ways to target specific groups and utilize Sacramento binge eating disorder treatment centers to assist with binge drinking.
The study found that while there wasn’t really a change in the amount of drinkers – it was the amount of drinking that had increased. Over ten years, the binge drinking rates for women went up to 36% while men’s binge drinking rates went up 23%. Men are usually more likely to continue binge drinking, but women are drinking even more now.
